The pristine Cold River runs through the property and wildlife is plentiful with birds, wild turkeys moose and deer as frequent visitors. There is even a spring fed ice pond. The Lakes Region Snowmobile and cross-country trail runs adjacent to the farm and is easily accessible. There are numerous opportunities for scenic horseback riding.

A 52 acre riverfront working farm abutting conservation land, North Wind Grange is located in a beautiful setting with open fields and mountain scenery. The main house was extensively renovated in 2001 preserving historic details and tastefully blending in updated features throughout. The Ell was totally rebuilt in 2004 including a large second floor great room with picturesque northern and southern views. The land has been lovingly cared for and most recently operated as a livestock farm under organic certification.
North Wind Grange began as a dairy farm in 1825 with a cape style home and was known originally as the Chandler Farm. In 1890 the second and third floors were added with the dramatic gabled dormers. The property operated as a ten bedroom inn from 1890 thru the end of WW2 with guests enjoying excellent hunting,fishing and hiking in scenic Evan's Notch, surrounded by thousands of acres of both the White Mountain National Forest and the Maine State Forest.
